Okay, my story has officially jumped the tracks. Am currently hanging from side of train. After sending action hero to rescue the dangling author (i.e. me), please suggest solutions (you may vote even if you are not a writer) ... The best way to save the new book is to: (A) Start again (No frellin' way) (B) Write 25,000 words of sex scenes and end with a big bang. (Pun intended) (C) Eat chocolate until the sugar buzz makes the book seem inconsequential. (Godiva is only about 3 miles away) (D) Hire a web-kitten to eat or ignore the file, while the author moves to Mexico. (Friends/Family/Web-buddies welcome to visit)

I just saw The Illusionist and enjoyed it so much. Norton is always an amazing talent, but in this guise I found him especially riveting. The rest of the cast also does a compelling job. If you like suspense and a good emotional ride, consider this historical romantic thriller for an excellent bit of entertainment.

Some writer friends and I had margaritas, faced the wind on the upper deck of the rented beach house, and had some interesting conversations about the secret lives of Disney characters. We debated whether the moon was full, who deserves to get eaten by tigers, and whether exposition should just plain be outlawed in the opening couple chapters of a book. Oh, yeah and we wrote a little. If you're looking for a getaway, Florida has some beautiful beaches. For company, I recommend avoiding the jellyfish, but embracing everything else. Where in the world are you today?

After two days of mind-blurring classes, I drove home this morning from Dallas, aka the big D. There were an abnormally large number of police officers chatting with motorists on the side of the road. Those flashing lights sure are bright at 6:00 am. As I drove past at 90 mph, I wondered idly what the speed limit on the I-45 is. I would have stopped to ask the officers, but they seemed otherwise engaged. I encountered a Tahoe that was driving in a manner completely unbecoming to a vehicle with an engine that size. I tried to signal the driver to let him know that his automobile had far larger than a V4, but he seemed not to notice me at first. Trapped as I was with semi trucks to my right and a cement barrier to my left, I was forced to a speed much slower than is tolerable for a 256-mile drive. This picture actually looks a lot like someplace other than where I live because today it's something like 65 degrees and sunny. I have all my windows open, and I'm quite convinced that this year is going to be a great one. Who says global warming is a bad thing? No one who lives in an igloo, I'll tell you that. Although, I may be singing a slightly different tune in August. As part of my NY's resolutions, I've resolved to have more fun. To that end, I faxed some paperwork this morning so I can take a cruise later this year. It'll be my first ever, and I'm really excited. I love the water, so I think floating around on a small town for a week will be fantastic. Plus if there's bad weather, we can go around it, which suits me because I prefer to see my hurricanes from the safety of my living room. Kelly McCullough's WebMage, the first in a series, has the most original premise I've seen in a very long time. Plus the characters are likable and the action and wit abound. If you want to take a walk on the weird & wild side, read this book.
