Coming soon...

Image
One remarkable thing about writing a series is that ideas can sometimes be percolating for years. When I began work on Would-Be Witch , I realized that Tammy Jo's closest living relatives were her aunt and her mother. Those witchy women did not appear in book 1 or book 2. We meet Tammy's Aunt Melanie briefly in Halfway Hexed . But it isn't until Casually Cursed that we will not only meet her mother Marlee, but actually get to see where she's been all this time. Are you excited? I hope so because I'm excited to have written this particular installment with so many mysteries finally revealed. Coming to stores & sites on:  FEBRUARY 3, 2015

Comicpalooza in 2014 was the biggest and best yet. Thousands of people. Great costumes.  I had fun on panels with Rachel Caine, Martha Wells, DL Young and others.  I got to meet Southern Witch fans who were funny and charming. (SW readers are the best! Thank you for coming out!) Cary Elwes was hilarious and handsome in person. So glad we made it to see him. It was also fun to listen to an author friend's wild stories. Safe travels home, Mario! I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend wherever you were. Next year I hope to see you in Houston for Comicpalooza 2015

I am not as rarely sighted as a dusky seaside sparrow--that's a little inside joke for Southern Witch readers who are caught up on the latest in the series. Have you read your copy of Slightly Spellbound yet?--but I'm not spotted around town that often.  So when I visit places in person, I try to share the news & the pics. I know that you really want to see proof that I exist. ;) These photographs were taken at my favorite bookstore, Murder by the Book. Like me, it can be found residing in Houston. I've signed there seven times since becoming published, and every time has been a blast! They have so many loyal customers, which isn't a surprise since the staff has a great eye for new talent! As a reader I've been to fantastic MBB events. Jasper Fforde, Alexander McCall Smith, and Charlaine Harris are all so funny and charming in person, you would not believe it. Or you might, if you've read their books. ;)   As a reader I've been to fantasti

Books are magical. I love them and if you're here, so do you. :) One place that books live before someone great brings them home is on the shelves of fantastic independent bookstores like Murder by the Book in Houston. It is, without a doubt, one of the greatest bookstores in the known universe. If you can get to Houston by 6:30 pm tonight, we can meet there. I will be talking about my Southern Witch series and about whatever else comes up...movies, mysteries, awesome possums. So jump in your car or your Tardis and come visit. You'll have fun. Promise! Southern Witch story release!

Image
It's been awhile since I've had a new story come out, so I'm excited to bring you the latest installment in the Southern Witch series. This 15,000-word story is short and fun and deals with a little problem that was left lingering at the end of Halfway Hexed . Here's the blurb: It was the best of times, it was the cursed of times—in this Southern Witch novella from national bestselling author Kimberly Frost. Tammy Jo Trask is headed to Galveston, Texas for the Dickens on the Strand festival, but there’s no idyllic vacation in her future—not with two magically shrunken ladies trapped in her luggage. Jenna and Lucy were trying to kidnap Tammy Jo when she took them down a notch. The only trouble is she can’t reverse the spell and neither can her gorgeous wizard beau Bryn. Now Tammy’s hoping to get help from a Galveston ghost named Sally O’Shea. In exchange for her help, Sally sends Tammy Jo and Bryn on a strange and mysterious mission. Bryn i
